Dunfermline was the historic capital of Scotland. The town is intersected from north to south by Pittencrieff Glen, a deep, picturesque and tortuous ravine, from which the town derives its name and at the bottom of which flows Lyne Burn. It is steeped in history, yet also offers locals and visitors a modern Leisure Centre with lots of entertainment facilities.
