I joined Grosvenor Britain & Ireland’s graduate programme in 2016 after graduating from the University of Warwick. I have just come to the end of my first (of three) rotation in the Mayfair Asset Management team, where my responsibilities included managing the parking portfolio, geared rents portfolio and budgeting/forecasting. I am now looking forward to my next rotation with the Strategic Land Team, where I will be able to learn about the business outside London.
Coming from an Economics background, the shift into property was a new challenge for me and I have had to manage studying for an MSc in Real Estate at the University of Reading and working towards my APC to become a qualified Chartered Surveyor alongside the day job. However, I have benefited from having colleagues that are either studying towards their APC or recently qualified who are all happy to offer guidance. It has also been rewarding to use both the skills I have picked up at Reading and my skills from my undergraduate degree when completing my day-to-day responsibilities.
Grosvenor offers lots of opportunities to participate in social activities which have helped me get to know people from all parts of the business. I am a member of the Sports & Social committee, helping to organise the quarterly social parties, the Culture Club which discusses and promotes diversity and inclusivity throughout the business, and I play in the Grosvenor cricket team, which has had a very successful season this year so far!
