A connected community
Barton Park is located to the north east of Oxford and close to the A40, with excellent links to Oxford city centre which is just a 20 minute cycle ride away and within close proximity to the new Oxford Parkway railway station, which has direct services to London Marylebone.
Our scheme aims to integrate Barton Park with surrounding neighbourhoods by establishing social and physical connections and promoting social cohesion. Our well thought out master plan inspires cycling and walking and includes community and sports facilities, public realm (including two civic squares to encourage natural gathering points and community engagement) and a strong green infrastructure network of greenways and a linear park.
In March 2016, Barton Park was awarded the NHS England’s Healthy New Town status with emphasis on the health inequalities facing Barton residents but also the importance of community cohesion for the new and existing neighbourhoods.
The development will incorporate 20% on-site renewable energy generation and meet a minimum Code Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. Forty per cent (354) of the homes will be affordable housing.
In November 2016, the housebuilder, Hill – crowned 'Medium-Sized Housebuilder of the Year' at The Housebuilder Awards 2014 – started on site to deliver the first phase of 237 new homes.
