Drawing on 300 years of expertise and commitment to London, we have ambitious proposals to plan, create and shape a new part of a growing neighbourhood in Bermondsey. A places that is physically, socially and economically integrated and hosts up to 1350 new homes for rent. A place that embodies the energy and life of its location, celebrates its past and connects its communities.
Our £500 million investment plan, designed by award-winning architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, incorporates a new 600-place secondary school, over 10,000m2 of new office space and 10,000m2 of retail, culture, leisure, community and food and drink uses; alongside 25,000m2 of new and improved streetscapes and playspace, 140 new planted trees and 400m2 of new public lawns. We want to retain a number of historic buildings that reflect Bermondsey’s rich past, locate the new school on the existing Campus site and, with Network Rail, create two new routes through to The Blue business district to better knit the neighbourhood together.
Our proposals signal our long-term commitment to Bermondsey. We believe this plan could revitalise the neighbourhood, provide much-needed, professionally-managed rental homes for Londoners, encourage enterprise and re-establish Bermondsey as a thriving economic centre in Southwark.
