Shawn Lese is Senior Director; Christopher Klare is Director, Jason Probert is Associate Director
Shawn Lese is Senior Director, Capital Markets. He joins GFM from Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. of New York and London, where he served as Executive Director, Investment Banking for the Real Estate Group. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Lese held positions at Lazard Freres & Co., J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and other firms. Mr. Lese holds a J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law, an M.B.A. degree from Columbia Business School, and a B.A. degree from Columbia College of Columbia University. As an undergraduate, he won a Japan Foundation Scholarship to study at the Stanford Center for Japanese Studies in Kyoto.
Christopher Klare is Director, Capital Markets, Mr. Klare joins GFM from The Tuckerman Group, a State Street Global Alliance Company, of Chicago, IL, where he served as Investment Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Klare’s work included managing a $340 million portfolio of real estate private equity investments on behalf of a corporate pension fund. His prior employers included Urban Retail Properties of Chicago, Peterson Economics of Atlantic Beach, NC, and Economics Research Associates of San Francisco. Mr. Klare holds a B.A. degree in economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Both Mr. Lese and Mr. Klare report to GFM Co-CEO Alexia Gottschalch. Their responsibilities include expanding GFM’s capital raising activities and investor relations platform in the US; managing institutional client relationships; and increasing assets under management by developing new client accounts and expanding business opportunities.
Jason Probert is GFM’s new Associate Director, Acquisitions. He joins GFM from Philadelphia-based start-up Cliq LLC, where he served as Vice President and Partner. Before beginning his role at Cliq, Mr. Probert held positions with Cheswold Real Estate Investment Management and GPX Realty Partners of Philadelphia. He began his career with the well-known homebuilder Toll Brothers, Inc. Mr. Probert holds a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
The latest addition to GFM’s staff roster is R. Christopher Hermance, a Senior Analyst working with Mr. Probert. Mr. Hermance recently completed his M.B.A. at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where he also earned his B.S. degree in finance. He interned at Foxhall Partners in Washington, DC and has worked at Starwood Capital Group in Greenwich, CT and HDG Mansur of New York City.
Both Mr. Probert and Mr. Hermance report to GFM Co-CEO Andrew Galbraith. Their responsibilities include sourcing and underwriting property acquisitions; creating detailed investment models and waterfall models; and coordinating legal work related to joint ventures and debt partners.
