Peter Vernon joins Peabody Board

Peabody has announced two new appointments to its Board to support its growth plans.

Peter Vernon, CEO of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, and Jennie Daly, UK Director of Planning at Taylor Wimpey formally joined Peabody as Non-Executive Directors on 1 April 2015.

The appointments follow the news that the former head of the Civil Service, now Lord Kerslake, will take over as Chair of Peabody from 1 June.

Stephen Howlett, Peabody Chief Executive and Board member said “Both Peter and Jennie bring a wealth of additional experience to Peabody. Their expertise in urban regeneration, planning and investment will help us deliver even more for Londoners. Over the next few years we will significantly increase our development pipeline, improving more neighbourhoods through creative and attractive urban design and public realm enhancements, great services, and more investment in our communities.  These appointments reflect Peabody’s intention to play a major part in tackling London’s housing crisis.”

Jennie Daly, UK Director of Planning at Taylor Wimpey, said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Peabody. With its enviable reputation and strong values, I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the Board and using my planning and redevelopment expertise to support Peabody’s exciting growth aspirations.”

As CEO of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, Peter Vernon has extensive experience of placemaking and mixed-use regeneration.  He has been a London First board member since 2008. He is deputy chair of the West End Partnership, a public/private partnership to set and deliver strategy for the West End.  He was a member of the 2012 Montague Review and the RSA City Growth Commission and remains a member of the British Property Federation policy committee. 

Renowned in the property industry for her expertise in unlocking difficult brownfield sites, Jennie Daly specialises in strategic land acquisition, investments and planning.  She joined Taylor Wimpey in 2014 after 11 years with Harrow Estates, part of Redrow Plc. Jennie is a Chartered Member of the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) with background in planning assessment and development promotion.
