Grosvenor and USS are calling on people in Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire to help further shape its proposals for a revitalised Cambridge Community Stadium and new Sporting Village by attending two upcoming exhibitions.
Plans for Cambridge United Football Club to stay in the Abbey ward, as well as joining an inspiring Cambridge Sporting Village in Trumpington, were confirmed in January.
Planning applications for a revised Cambridge Community Stadium at the site of the R Costings Abbey Stadium and a Sporting Village in Trumpington are scheduled for submission later this year.
Known as the Cambridge Community Sporting Trust (CCST) - and working in unison as a single proposal - the linked projects will deliver a package of complementary community benefits, providing vibrant new hubs for sports, training and education, health, recreation and new homes for Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire
The all-day events will be held in Abbey and Trumpington on Monday, 18th May and Tuesday, 19th May and outline designs and masterplans of the proposals will be exhibited from 12noon-9pm each day. More than 7,000 invitations have been distributed to residents of Trumpington and Abbey wards and other interested parties.
The events will give people the opportunity to offer their views and experiences and contribute towards the further evolution of the proposals.

Members of the team will be available to discuss the plans on a one-to-one basis. All views will be captured and used to further develop the plans. A second public exhibition will be held later in the year to display the final application to the public.

“The Cambridge Community Stadium and the Sporting Village will, we hope, drive increased sports participation and further enhance Cambridge’s reputation as a world class and thriving cosmopolitan city.”
Grosvenor will also be launching an innovative consultation website which will allow people to submit their views electronically and find out updates on the proposals as it progresses this year. The Commonplace website will go live on May 18th at ccst.commonplace.is.
