Grosvenor Europe secures gastropub chain Pitcher's for flagship at Skärholmen Centrum

Grosvenor Europe has signed an agreement with gastropub chain Pitcher's to establish a new flagship restaurant in Skärholmen Centrum. The restaurant, set to open in December, will be the largest in Pitcher’s portfolio and offer a comprehensive dining and leisure experience, spanning a total of 27,000 sq ft (2,600 sq m).

The Pitchers restaurant will encompass two levels and offer a comprehensive range of leisure activities through the Pitcher concept Game World. This will consist of bowling alleys and game rooms where there is an option for teams to compete against each other. The total area of the new Pitcher’s flagship will be 28,000 sq ft (2,600 sq m), of which 5,900 sq ft (550 sq m) is allocated to the ground floor.

Carl Strufve, Director Nordics at Grosvenor Europe, commented: "Pitcher's will serve as one of Skärholmen Centrum’s must-visit destinations. Its extensive dining and leisure offer will attract visitors of all ages."

Kenny Svedenlund, CEO of Pitcher's AB, commented: "We are choosing to establish ourselves in Skärholmen Centrum for its ideal geographical location as well as our belief in Grosvenor’s vision for the centre. Grosvenor has a long-term strategy for the Skärholmen area and we look forward to being a part of this."

In addition to Pitcher's, Grosvenor has also signed new agreements in Skärholmen Centrum with restaurant operators Mr Espresso (270 sq ft/25 sq m) and the North African food concept Almodah (2,800 sq ft/258 sq m).

The signings are an important milestone in Grosvenor's development of Skärholmen Centrum. Grosvenor has been actively working to upgrade the centre since its acquisition in 2015. The goal is to strengthen the overall dining and leisure experience as well as to create a restaurant street facing the Skärholmen Square.

As part of Grosvenor’s long term development plans, the restaurant offering at Skärholmen Centrum is set to increase from five to ten percent and will occupy a total area of 48,400 sq ft (4,500 sq m).   This, Grosvenor hopes, will help to recreate the feeling of a town centre, with Skärholmen Centrum becoming the dynamic meeting place for visitors.

The strategy is influenced by Grosvenor's ‘Living cities’ philosophy which guides Grosvenor to act in a way that delivers social and commercial benefit in the locations it is active.
