Michael McLintock has been appointed by the Grosvenor Estate as the new Chairman of Grosvenor Group, one of the world’s largest privately-owned international property companies. He succeeds Lesley Knox who is retiring as a trustee of the Grosvenor Estate and who has fulfilled the role of Group Chairman since 2010. The appointment becomes effective in September.
Michael has been a member of the Grosvenor Group Board since 2012 and is also a Trustee of the Grosvenor Estate, Chairman of Grosvenor Group’s Audit Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee. He was previously Chief Executive of M&G for 19 years, retiring in 2016, and was a Director of Prudential between 2000 and 2016, having overseen the sale of M&G to Prudential in 1999.
Mark Preston, Executive Trustee of the Grosvenor Estate said:
"Lesley has been an outstanding Chairman for the Group. Over the past few years, her business acumen, insight and good judgement have helped steer and constructively challenge the Group’s approach to international diversification and growth – always with a firm eye on the long-term impact of our decisions.
"In Michael McLintock we are fortunate to have an ideal successor with a deep understanding of the business. As chief executive of Grosvenor Group I am very much looking forward to working with him in his new capacity, as we continue in our strategy to deepen our activities across our diversified portfolio and to ensure that what we do delivers benefit to the communities, neighbourhoods and cities in which we work."

About Grosvenor Group:
Grosvenor Group is one of the world’s largest privately-owned property companies. We develop, manage and invest in property in more than 60 cities around the world.
Through the activities of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, Grosvenor Americas, Grosvenor Asia Pacific and Grosvenor Europe we diversify the Group’s property portfolio by geography, sector, activity, currency and management teams.
Our Indirect Investment business further diversifies the Group’s property interests beyond the expertise and strategies of our four regional Operating Companies. It invests Grosvenor’s capital in Africa, Australia, Europe and North and South America.
Grosvenor Group’s purpose is to deliver lasting commercial and social benefit. To live up to this ambition, for over 10 years we have adopted an approach we call 'Living cities' which aims to guide and inspire our property activities.
Achieving strong commercial returns enables our activities to be enduring. Applying our expertise with a far-sighted perspective to improve properties and places provides a positive impact on communities, neighbourhoods and cities.
