Grosvenor Americas (Grosvenor), a private property investment and development company, announced today the National Park Foundation signed a 25,412-square-foot lease at 1500 K Street NW, a Class A office building on McPherson Square in Washington, DC.
The National Park Foundation is the official charitable partner of the National Park Service, an organization that works to protect and preserve 418 national parks across America. The National Park Foundation establishes strategic partnerships and raises private funds in order to support the National Park Service.
“The National Park Foundation and Grosvenor share important values related to sustainability and a respect for history,” said Doug Jung, Grosvenor’s Senior Investment Manager, “Adding this highly regarded organization to the tenant mix at 1500 K is an exciting milestone for the building, and further reflects the success of our tenant-focused renovation program.”
Grosvenor purchased the building in 2002 and aligned the property with its Living Cities approach, which aims to improve properties and places in order to deliver lasting commercial and social benefit. In 2017, Grosvenor transformed and revitalized the building through a comprehensive renovation programme. They carefully preserved the building’s rich historical elements while simultaneously implementing contemporary updates to maximize tenant comfort and building proficiency. A range of sustainable initiatives resulted in 1500 K achieving LEED and Wired Gold certifications, a first for a private sector office building in DC.
