Our Partnership with PALS
Founded in 2007 by five mothers of children with autism and complex developmental disabilities, PALS Autism Society is a specialized elementary and secondary school in British Columbia, Canada for children and adolescents with autism. The school uses Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) to provide core education, life skills and socials skills as a foundation for independence.
The Society also includes an Adult Program that offers support and instruction in life skills, social thinking, job training, employment and successful community integration for young adults with autism aged 19-35. An integral component of the program is its social enterprise which includes candle-making, packaging, custom gifts and labelling. Students are involved in every step of the production and crafting of the candles, from unpacking inventory, placing wicks and oils, to labelling and packaging.
Over the past few years, PALS students have worked on various projects for our Vancouver office, including the creation of candles and diffusers for corporate gifts, and completing the packaging and labelling of our 2018 Annual Review mail out.
The students’ work is always completed with exceptional attention to detail and we look forward to continuing to collaborate on future projects with this passionate and dedicated group.
