Grosvenor Takes Stake in Roland Mouret


Renowned Luxury Womenswear Designer Backed by Landlord Grosvenor To Kickstart New Phase of Growth

Grosvenor Britain & Ireland has made its first equity investment in an occupier, taking a minority interest in one of the best-known names in British fashion, Roland Mouret.

The investment has been made through Grosvenor’s Tenant Investment Fund, a first from a UK property company. Established in 2020, the fund enables new and existing occupiers in Grosvenor’s places with ideas and diversification strategies to grow their business, through a range of partnerships from equity to debt.

The equity stake enables greater partnership between the companies, who first worked together when the luxury womenswear brand opened its flagship townhouse on Carlos Place, Mayfair in 2011. It will also support avenues for growth such as new business categories.

Roland Mouret is renowned for designing timeless collections, celebrated for his unique approach to folding and draping. Working instinctively with fabric, his sharp tailoring and precise fit have earned him the title ‘Master of the Silhouette’, attributed to his ability to create a second-skin, empowering the wearer. The Roland Mouret ethos also champions a responsible approach, creating tightly-edited collections designed for longevity.  

Beyond Carlos Place, the brand is sold globally via a worldwide network of boutiques and innovative digital sales strategy.

The Tenant Investment Fund has already supported the launch of JKS Restaurants’ latest venture, Bibi, in the popular dining destination of North Audley Street, Mayfair and atis, an up and coming salad bar and bowl concept in Eccleston Yards, Belgravia. Each has also taken up Grosvenor’s green lease, helping them to drive down carbon emissions from their premises.

The company approaches each investment opportunity on a case-by-case basis but has the ability to offer a range of partnerships from debt to equity and does not comment on the commercial details of investments.
