New Chief Executive of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland begins tenure

Grosvenor Group, the privately-owned international property company which develops, manages and invests in property in more than 60 cities around the world, announces James Raynor as the new Chief Executive of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, effective immediately. He takes up the role following the mutually agreed departure for private reasons of previous Chief Executive Craig McWilliam.

James’s promotion to the role was announced as part of a series of senior management changes across the Grosvenor Group last summer. Originally scheduled to become effective in September this year, James has spent the last few months as the Executive Director of the London Estate. He was previously the Chief Executive of Grosvenor Europe.

Grosvenor Group will now review succession plans concerning the role of Group Chief Executive, which Craig was due to take on from 2021.

Mark Preston continues to lead the Group while also fulfilling the role of Executive Trustee of the Grosvenor Estate (since 2017) and Head of the Family Office (since 2018). He is supported by Peter Vernon as Group Executive Director (with responsibility to the Group Board for Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, Grosvenor Americas and Grosvenor Asia Pacific) and by Rob Davis as Group Finance Director.

Mark Preston, Grosvenor Group’s Chief Executive, said:

‘James Raynor has been preparing to take over this role for several months and will ably step up ahead of the original timetable to play a key role in enhancing the way we develop, manage and invest in property while positively contributing to the communities in London, and elsewhere in the UK, in which we are active’.
