The headwinds which challenged the food and agtech sector in 2023 persisted into 2024, critically tempered by compelling market signals for its positive future trajectory. With 134 countries signing the Declaration on Sustainable Agriculture Resilient Food Systems and Climate Action at COP28 in December 2023, the mandate for urgent transformation of the planet’s food systems has been globally affirmed.
We continue to believe technology is a critical lever to achieve this. With the benefit of patient capital, we focused on close partnership with our portfolio companies during 2024. We are pleased to have achieved significant successes within our existing portfolio, targeting progress on commercial, social and environmental sustainability fronts. As the market backdrop shifts and valuations become increasingly attractive, we look forward to expanding the breadth of our investments to additional impactful innovations.
