A 39-storey luxury residential tower in the heart of Downtown Vancouver
Located on a storied site by downtown Vancouver’s bright southern shore, The Pacific will include a 39-storey residential tower with 224 elegant homes, the restoration of an iconic heritage house and a brand-new Passive House arts and culture building for the City of Vancouver.
We engaged architects ACDF* and IBI to design a sophisticated building that responds to its prominent location at the corner of Pacific and Hornby Streets in downtown Vancouver – an established residential neighbourhood undergoing an exciting evolution.
The Pacific will target a measurable reduction in energy and water use through LEED Gold certification, and a design that includes high-performance triple-glazed windows on the north and south facades, and balconies on the east and west facades that naturally cool the building with shade.
In addition, the new arts and culture building meets the rigorous design criteria of Passive House – an internationally-recognized standard of sustainable building practices.
The Pacific began construction in 2018 and is anticipated to complete in 2021.

Next door to The Pacific, our residential high-rise, is the future site of the first commercial Passive House in Vancouver. The building will be a multi-purpose arts and culture hub, with affordable and suitable presentation, studio production and office spaces for multiple artists and arts and culture non-profit organizations based in Vancouver.
We plan on transferring this innovative building, which requires little energy to heat or cool, to the City as part of our Community Amenity Contribution for The Pacific.
