Connaught

A rarely available mixed-use development opportunity in North Vancouver

Edgemont Village is a desirable and affluent community at the foot of the North Shore mountains and only a short distance from downtown Vancouver.

Being one of North Vancouver’s most popular village centres, development sites in Edgemont Village are rare. We took this opportunity to build Connaught, 82 high-quality concrete condominiums and townhomes for downsizers and young families, accompanied by ground-floor retail.

The thoughtfully designed interiors by Scott Trepp include air conditioning, premium finishes and generous outdoor spaces, while the West Coast contemporary architecture by Rositch Hemphill Architects complements the surrounding neighbourhood and natural environment.

Enhancing an already eclectic streetscape, we anchored the retail component with Thrifty Foods, a full-service grocery store, and retailers also include Shoppers Drug Mart, Bufula Pizzeria, Kokomo and Cantina Norte. In addition, we integrated public plazas, art and wider sidewalks to bring neighbours and families together.

Construction commenced in 2016 and completed 2019.

Sustainability Impact

  • During construction, we diverted 80% of waste from landfill to recycling facilities.
  • Expanded the public realm surrounding the site with the addition of three public plazas and the provision of public art.
