Steve O'Connell

As Chief Executive, I provide the strategic direction for Grosvenor's North American property investment, development and financing activities.

Steve provides the strategic direction for Grosvenor's Investment, Development and Financing activities in North America. Steve was appointed to the Americas Board in 2018 after joining in 2011. He became Chief Executive in 2019. 

Steve led Grosvenor’s Development team in San Francisco and successfully established its multifamily programme there before being appointed Managing Director, Investment in 2015 where he oversaw Investment and Co-Investment activities in North America.

He holds a B.Eng. degree from McGill University and an MBA from the UC Berkeley - Haas School of Business. Steve is a Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and belongs to a ULI National Mixed-Use Development Council. He is an Executive Committee and Board member of UC Berkeley’s Fisher Center Policy Advisory Board, and a member of The Read Estate Roundtable and the Bay Area Council Board of Directors.
