Mayfair
Emerging in the 1720s as London expanded westwards, the creation of Mayfair marked the beginning of Grosvenor’s property development activities, transforming open land into a planned district of elegant squares, streets and townhouses. Designed for a growing and increasingly affluent capital, it quickly became synonymous with commerce and cosmopolitan life.
Building on more than three centuries of stewardship, today Grosvenor continues to actively manage and evolve the neighbourhood. We do so by nvesting in its buildings and public spaces to ensure it remains economically vibrant, architecturally distinctive and relevant to a modern city – a global destination that retains its unique local character.

Belgravia
A century later, Grosvenor extended its development activity south to create Belgravia, conceived in the early nineteenth century as a planned neighbourhood of grand terraces and garden squares, including Belgrave Square and Eaton Square. Designed at scale as a coherent residential district, it reflected a strong architectural vision and a clear sense of order and place.
Today, Belgravia remains one of London’s most distinctive residential neighbourhoods. Through long-term stewardship, Grosvenor continues to actively manage and evolve the area — investing in homes, public spaces and local amenities to ensure it remains a great place to live and relevant to modern residents, businesses and visitors alike.
